Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to paid Cadence bookings. Contact the other party promptly and email mark@makingthingsforsmiles.com with the booking details when a refund or cancellation needs support.

Before payment

A listing, application, or accepted match does not charge anyone. Before Stripe reports a successful payment, either party may withdraw without a Cadence cancellation fee.

Buyer cancellation

A buyer who cancels at least 48 hours before the scheduled start may request a full refund. A cancellation within 48 hours is not automatically refundable because the pacer reserved the time; Cadence may approve a full or partial refund when both parties agree or circumstances make it fair.

A buyer no-show after the agreed start is normally not refundable. If no date was included in the booking, Cadence will use the date and time documented in the parties' Cadence records.

Pacer cancellation or no-show

If the pacer cancels, does not arrive, or cannot provide the agreed service, the buyer may request a full refund. Cadence may restrict repeat cancellations or no-shows and may reverse the related pacer payout.

Race, organization, weather, and safety changes

If a race or organization cancels the underlying activity and pacing cannot reasonably occur, the buyer may request a full refund. For delays, route changes, severe weather, unsafe conditions, or a mutually agreed alternative, Cadence will use the documented agreement and whether the pacing service was still provided. Either party may stop when conditions appear unsafe.

Refund timing and disputes

Approved refunds return to the original payment method. A full refund includes the Cadence fee; a partial refund reduces the fee proportionally. Bank and card networks control when the credit appears.

Report a service or payment problem within 48 hours after the scheduled effort when possible. Do not file a false chargeback. Nothing in this policy limits chargeback or consumer rights that cannot be waived.
